Robert Wilkinson Furnas (1824-1905) was born on a farm near Ohio in 1824, the son of William and Martha Jenkins Furnas. A twin, his brother died in infancy and his sister, Mary Elizabeth, died at the age of eighteen. He was orphaned at the age of twelve when both of his parents died of cholera.
Roscoe Pound
Roscoe Pound (1870-1964). Nathan Roscoe Pound was born in 1870, in Lincoln, Nebraska, the son of Stephen Bosworth Pound, a lawyer and judge, and Laura Biddlecombe Pound. His parents were New Yorkers who immigrated to Nebraska. Pound received his early education at home from his mother, who thought public education was unacceptably poor at that time.

Nebraska Prairie
Early explorers to Nebraska described the tallgrass prairie region as a sea of grass with open horizons and abundant wildflowers rooted in rich soils. The tallgrass prairie once extended from Eastern Nebraska to Indiana and from Texas to Southern Canada.
Ponca Tribe of Nebraska
Although the tribe’s exact origin is unknown, some scholars believe that the Ponca are from the Ohio River Valley. However, by the early 1700s, the warring Sioux had forced them to relocate to the west bank of the Missouri River.
Platte River
The Platte River begins high in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado and Wyoming, then moves through the dry Great Plains of Colorado, Wyoming and Western Nebraska until it reaches the Missouri River at Plattsmouth, Nebraska. The North Platte and South Platte rivers join to form the Platte River near Ogallala.
Osni Ponca LLC
Osni Ponca, LLC is the primary economic development vehicle for the Ponca Tribe of Nebraska whose purpose is to engage in economic development activities for the benefit of the Tribe and its members. It was established as an economic holding company by charter of the Pawnee Tribe in 2012.
Omaha Tribe of Nebraska
The Omaha are a federally recognized Native American tribe who live on the Omaha Reservation in northeastern Nebraska and western Iowa, United States. The Omaha Indian Reservation lies primarily in the southern part of Thurston County and northeastern Cuming County, Nebraska, but small parts extend into the northeast corner of Burt County and across the Missouri River into Monona County, Iowa.
