A group of visionaries with a genuine love for Lincoln and dedication to its constant improvement founded the Lincoln Community Foundation in 1955. While stated in many ways since our founding in 1955, the words LINCOLN FOREVER convey the fondness that those who have made gifts to and through the Foundation have always held for this community and its successful future.
The Lincoln Community Foundation was established to help donors serve and improve the community through philanthropic gifts to nonprofit organizations. We are a connecting point for people who are interested in moving Lincoln forward.
The mission of the Lincoln Community Foundation is to provide leadership and resources to help build a great city. We serve as faithful stewards for many types of philanthropic gifts and in helping donors create a lasting legacy of giving. We serve as community leaders to identify needs and opportunities. We convene diverse voices from government, business, nonprofit organizations and citizens to craft responses and solutions. We encourage and support the many nonprofit organizations in our community that contribute so much to our quality of life. Foundation grants support a variety of interests including arts and culture, community improvement, education and youth, environment, animals and health and human services.
Gifts to the Foundation commonly accomplish one or more of the following goals for a donor:
- Support future needs and opportunities within the Lincoln community
- Benefit one or more specific charities
- Support a specific area of interest
- Establish a scholarship
